Pixellot Named a Cool Vendor in AI for Media and Entertainment by Gartner

TEL AVIV, Israel, Oct. 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Gartner, the world-renown analyst company, has recognized Pixellot, the global leader in automated sports production technology, as a Cool Vendor in AI for Media and Entertainment.

Pixellot's technology automatically generates high-quality footage of the playing field and follows the action on the ground, simulating a camera operator using computer-vision AI algorithms. The footage is automatically streamed via Pixellot's cloud to fans, family, coaches, and scouts on all platforms.

The Gartner report notes: "Media and entertainment are benefiting strongly from the use of artificial intelligence techniques applied to video workflows and content analysis. Machine learning (ML) algorithms applied to video and audio analysis are exploding. Many vendors, from long-established ones to startups, are releasing products and solutions to help broadcasters, service providers and digital publishers accelerate the content delivery process, enhance the consumer experience, and help improve monetization initiatives."

"We are very excited to be selected as a Cool Vendor by Gartner. We believe it supports our goal toward increasing production possibilities across many sports that have had limited air time until now," states Alon Werber, CEO of Pixellot. "Gartner defines Cool Vendors as companies with innovative, impactful and intriguing technologies, and we're proud that we were selected to be on this list. We're streaming 30,000 hours of live sports every month and women's sports, minor leagues, and youth programs are benefiting from an unprecedented number of HD productions of their games."

Pixellot's affordable AI system is formulated to broadcast more than 10 types of sports including soccer, football, basketball, hockey, and volleyball. Besides streaming for entertainment, the automated production technology powers the Pixellot video coaching system, which is deployed by top clubs in Spain, Germany, England, and China to boost player and team performance.

Thousands of Pixellot systems have been sold worldwide, broadcasting more than 200,000 games in almost 30 countries including the United States, Canada, China, Germany, Spain, Austria, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Japan, and Mexico. Recently, Pixellot announced that the Mexican Soccer Federation has deployed its solution in every Liga MX soccer stadium to produce all league games for video coaching.
