HAMILTON, ON, Oct. 18, 2018 /CNW/ - CF Lime Ridge, in partnership with the Hamilton Arts Council, is proudly hosting its inaugural Youth and Emerging Art Fair and Exhibition showcasing original artwork from up and coming student artists. Curated by the Hamilton Arts Council, a call for submission was issued to local secondary and post-secondary students as well as recent college and university graduates in Southwestern Ontario to submit visual pieces of artwork aligned to Cadillac Fairview's purpose - "Transforming Communities for a Vibrant Tomorrow". The initiative was intended to highlight community issues students are most passionate about and their vision for the future of Hamilton.

"CF Lime Ridge is committed to providing different and inspiring experiences that are meaningful for our community, in particular youth," said Liem Vu, General Manager, CF Lime Ridge. "Arts and culture is an important focus in the Hamilton region and this exhibit provides a creative outlet that not only empowers and inspires youth but also shines light on how we can bring forth positive change in our own community."

Sixty five artists combining for 122 pieces of artwork in the form of paintings, illustrations and photography will be showcased at the exhibit as chosen by a jury comprised of representatives from Cadillac Fairview, the Hamilton Arts Council, First Ontario Credit Union and Earls Court Gallery. The artwork will be on display from October 25 to October 28 at CF Lime Ridge, on the lower level by Entrance 1.

"The Hamilton Arts Council is dedicated to strengthening the role of the arts and culture in the City of Hamilton and we were delighted by the response from students passionate about art as well as the future of the community who embraced the unique art challenge, said Annette Paiement, Executive Director, The Hamilton Arts Council. "We're thankful to likeminded and collaborative partners like CF Lime Ridge for providing a platform for emerging youth to share their creativity with the entire city."
