Nation's Largest Asian American Real Estate Conference to be Held in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) will host thousands of real estate and mortgage professionals at the Aria Resort & Casino this October 18-20^th, at their annual National Convention, the nation's largest Asian American real estate conference.

The Convention will focus on how real estate professionals can better serve the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, which has been the largest minority participant in the purchase money mortgage market since 2010. AAPI are the fastest growing demographic in the US and Canada, and recently topped $1 trillion in purchasing power, which would make the group the 17^th largest economy in the world.

Despite being typically well-positioned for homeownership, AAPI homeownership still lags behind the national average by 6.3% (58% to 64.3%) and non-Hispanic whites by 14.9% (72.9%), presenting a huge opportunity for housing professionals interested in serving this dynamic growth market.

Las Vegas has a significant AAPI population, with 8.8% of the city identifying as such. Las Vegas AAPI have a 61.5% homeownership rate, have the highest rate of employment of any demographic between 16-64 (68.6%), earn 116% of the city's median income, and 42% of AAPI households in Las Vegas earn over $100k per year. 

AREAA will install Tom Truong of Boston, MA, as its new national president at the event. The Convention will also feature high profile speakers such as US Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV), Ryan Serhant of real estate and TV stardom, Tony Award-winning actor BD Wong, former Miss America Angela Perez Baraquio, and CEOs from some of the largest real estate brands in the world.
