Colavita Cares Partners with the American-Italian Cancer Foundation to Provide Breast Cancer Screening for Women, and Pizza from the Colavita Cares Brick Oven Pizza Truck

EDISON, N.J., July 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Yesterday, the American-Italian Cancer Foundation provided no-cost mammograms and clinical breast exams to more than 25 women at the William F. Ryan Community Health Center in Manhattan and all were treated to free pizza from Colavita, the trusted family brand.

The women who signed up received life-saving breast cancer screening services on the American-Italian Cancer Foundation's Mobile Care Clinic.  Those in attendance also received a very special treat. Colavita, the leading family-owned specialty food company and producer of one of the top-selling extra virgin olive oils in the United States, brought the Colavita Cares Pizza Truck, a special vehicle outfitted with a brick oven, to the Community Health Center and cooked and served fresh pizza for those in attendance.  With a long-standing commitment to encouraging healthy living, Colavita also provided gift bags to all the women who came to this special event.

"It was a great day of supporting these women and the American-Italian Cancer Foundation," stated Mary Zider, Director of the Colavita Cares program. "As an Italian family-owned company, Colavita really does care about supporting women, families and communities, and especially enjoys sharing the benefits of living healthy and taking a proactive approach to health."

"The American-Italian Cancer Foundation greatly appreciates the continued and generous support of Colavita. Early detection is key to breast cancer survival and thanks to Colavita, today more women have access to life-saving screening services. This event was made even more special as women were treated to delicious pizza and tasty Italian products." said Cristina Aibino, Executive Director of the American-Italian Cancer Foundation.
