In Memory of Dr. Jennifer Gonzales Shushereba, Palo Alto University's Alumnus

PALO ALTO, Calif., March 14, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- It is with profound sadness that we confirm the tragic death of Dr. Jennifer Gonzales Shushereba, a 2013 graduate of the PGSP - Stanford Psy.D. Consortium at Palo Alto University.  Dr. Gonzales Shushereba was one of three staff members of The Pathway Home in Yountville, who died after having been taken hostage by a former patient. Jennifer was an extremely positive and caring individual, as well as a talented psychologist who was truly committed to serving our Veterans.  Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this difficult time.

The Pathway Home has announced a memorial service in honor of Dr. Gonzales Shushereba and her colleagues on Monday, March 19 at 6 p.m. at the Napa Valley Performing Arts Center. Additionally, friends of the family have set up a GoFundMe page to assist with funeral and other expenses.

Faculty, students, staff, and alumni at Palo Alto University are currently exploring ways to honor Jennifer's memory and her outstanding clinical work and service to veterans and our community. We will share information regarding these efforts with the campus community as it becomes available.
