Colonial Williamsburg Hotels Announces Spring Events and Tavern Openings Throughout the Month of March


WILLIAMSBURG, Va., March 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- This March, Colonial Williamsburg Hotels invites guests to experience the Declaration of Spring, as the world-class destination hosts a series of specialty events and officially opens the full collection of taverns and eateries for the season. Local favorite events have returned, including Chowning's Sunset Serenade, Colonial Pub Crawl, as well as Social Hour on the Social Terrace. Complete with delicious colonial fare, live entertainment and family-friendly fun, Colonial Williamsburg is the quintessential spring destination.

The variety of Declaration of Spring programming and events are now available for reservations and includes the following:

Social Terrace Official Kick Off Event 
Friday, March 9 from 5 p.m. ? 9 p.m. on the Social Terrace
The five star, five diamond Williamsburg Inn invites local guests and visitors to kick off the spring season and welcome back the Social Hour at the Social Terrace. The popular social-hour menu will be served all day, along with complimentary oysters from 4 p.m. ? 6 p.m. and live jazz music throughout the evening.

Traditional St. Patrick's Day Celebration at the Taverns 
Saturday, March 17 from 5 p.m. ? 8 p.m. at all Taverns
Celebrate in 18th Century style at any colonial tavern and enjoy traditional St. Patrick's Day offerings including a specialty three-course dinner offered in addition to the evening bill of fare. Live festive music will play throughout the evening as guests sip and snack in celebration.

St. Patrick's Day Garden Celebration 
Saturday, March 17 from 5 p.m. ? 10 p.m. at Chowning's Tavern
Enjoy St. Patrick's Day in the rustic and rowdy Chowning's Garden Grill and Snack Bar with specialty menu offerings and live music from The Watermans music troupe. St. Patrick's Day menu items and specials include corned beef and cabbage, grilled bratwurst and onions, $5 pints, $20 pitchers and green beer.

Shields Tavern Pub Crawl 
Friday, March 16 from 7 p.m. ? 8:30 p.m. at Shields Tavern (Every Friday)
Explore the many watering holes Colonial Williamsburg has to offer and join in on the season's first Colonial Williamsburg Pub Crawl to experience the best bars, local libations and tastiest brews the destination has to offer. A special St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl is scheduled for Saturday, March 17 at 7 p.m -8:30 p.m. at Shields Tavern.

Chowning's Sunset Serenade
Friday, March 16 from 6 p.m. ? 9 p.m. (Every Friday)
The Sunset Serenade is the perfect way to head into the weekend. Chowning's Garden welcomes visitors to enjoy delicious tavern fare, soak in live music and treat themselves to a pint of their favorite brew. Huzzah!

The official opening dates for the taverns begin March 1 with King's Arms Tavern and Shields Tavern, followed by Christiana Campbell's Tavern on March 15 and Chowning's Tavern on March 16. The Social Terrace at the Williamsburg Inn will officially reopen March 2 with regular service.
