Exer More Than Urgent Care Announces Inaugural Exer Sports & Schoolstm Program Raised Over $51,000 And Opens 2018 Registration

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Exer More Than Urgent Care announced the healthcare company's inaugural community fundraising program, Exer Sports & Schools, raised over $51,000 for high school athletics across participating schools in 2017 and opened registration for the 2018 program. The innovative community fundraiser aims to help make high school athletics a reality for student athletes in communities served by Exer More Than Urgent Care's team of ER doctors and medical staff.

Exer Sports & Schools

"Congratulations to all the participating high schools who helped make our first annual Exer Sports & Schools a remarkable success for high school athletes and school athletic departments here in Southern California," said Rob Mahan, CEO of Exer More Than Urgent Care.

"As an ER alternative that's built and staffed by ER doctors, we're experts in emergency medicine. However, many of us are parents who care deeply about living an active and healthy lifestyle. With that in mind, we developed Exer Sports & Schools as a simple way to help where we can in the communities we serve. On a set day for participating high schools, we're happy to lend our medical expertise to cover the cost of each athlete's sports physical, while providing a fundraising opportunity for the respective school," Mahan added.

All Exer facilities have on-site X-Ray, IV, Lab, Pharmacy, Diagnostics and offer patients more comprehensive medical services than a traditional walk in urgent care.  Because each center is staffed with ER doctors who have on average over 15 years of experience in emergency medicine, Exer can stabilize and treat 80 percent of cases seen daily in the ER with far less waiting and for a fraction of the cost.

Within a few months of launching Exer Sports & Schools in 2017, Exer had dozens of high schools registered and actively participating in the inaugural program. Mahan says Exer Sports & Schools is a big win for high school athletic departments looking for a fundraising opportunity.

"The $51,000 raised in 10 months last year by athletes, their parents and supporters wouldn't have otherwise been possible.  Combined with the outstanding feedback from the schools, our staff is humbled and motivated to make the 2018 program even bigger and better," Mahan added.

Registration for 2018 Exer Sports & Schools is open and Mahan urges high schools not to wait to register their school.

"From dates to details, there is a lot to organize and a narrow window of time on the school calendars to make these successful efforts for each school.  Register today by walking in to the nearest Exer facility and ask to speak with the clinic manager," Mahan said.

Exer owns and operates 7 centers in Southern California including:  Beverly Hills, Calabasas, Newbury Park, Northridge, Sherman Oaks, Redondo Beach, Santa Clarita and will open an eighth center on Wednesday January 24th in Manhattan Beach.

Each center is open seven days-a-week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and last patients are registered daily at 8:30 p.m.  Exer accepts most PPOs, most HMOs, Medicare, and offers affordable payment options for those without health insurance.
