C2MI's mobilizing strategic project - Premier of Québec announces investment of $26.75 million for a project that could generate more than 700 paying jobs

BROMONT, QC, March 15, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - The Premier of Québec, François Legault, announced on Friday that the new Québec government would allocate financial aid of $26.75 million to the MiQro Innovation Collaborative Centre (C2MI), in support of investment and innovation projects valued at $160.5 million.

C2MI's initiative was selected following a public call, in May 2018, for strategic mobilizing projects. Their initiative aims to create a centre of innovation in the electronic systems industry that will forge solid ties between players in this field and those in other sectors such as transportation, health care, energy and digital technology. These partnerships will bolster the capacity for innovation and marketing of promising companies, thereby accelerating their growth and helping them to become global industry leaders.

The Premier pointed out that the projects resulting from these partnerships could generate more than 700 paying jobs in Québec in the next five years. The initiative is fully in line with his economic vision, which aims to create more wealth for Québec so it can catch up with the rest of Canada.
