March Break at Beauharnois generating station: So much to discover!


BEAUHARNOIS, QC, Feb. 14, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - Beauharnois generating station will open its doors during March Break. Come see this monument to Québec engineering!

Hydro-Québec is offering free tours, so why not make it a special family outing and learn all about power generation in Québec? You'll be wowed by the station's Art Deco style and the close-up view of the imposing generating units.

An exceptional generating station built in 1932
A designated national historic site, Beauharnois is Hydro-Québec's most powerful run-of-river plant and one of the biggest in the world. With its 36 generating units spread out over nearly a kilometre, it plays a key role in Hydro-Québec's grid. Soak up the amazing history of this venerable powerhouse in its stunning setting.

The guides, who really know how to explain things so can everyone understand, will be happy to give your group a personalized tour.

March 2 to 10, 2019, inclusive: 9:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.

Visitors aged 18 and over must show valid photo ID before entering the facility.

For safety reasons, tours are not recommended for children under the age of two.

The generating station is in the Melocheville sector of Beauharnois, in the Montérégie. Just take Exit 22 off Highway 30.
