St. Jude Gourmet Gala to celebrate 20th anniversary on Feb. 19, Tasting event for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital® to feature 40 of D.C.'s finest restaurants


WASHINGTON, Jan. 30, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Preparations are underway for the 20th annual St. Jude Gourmet Gala at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the National Building Museum. Since its inception, the tasting event has raised about $7 million for children fighting cancer and other life-threatening diseases at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®. Guests are anticipated to raise another $800,000 this year.

The annual tasting event benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and helps ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

Approximately 550 people are anticipated to attend the tasting event hosted by UBS Financial Services, Inc., and chaired by the firm's Managing Director and Market Head of Washington, D.C. Jerry Castro.

The evening's cuisine will be prepared by Honorary Chef Chair and Charlie Palmer Steak DC Executive Chef Michael Ellis along with other top chefs from 40 of the District's finest restaurants, including Convivial, BlackSalt, Maketto, Estadio, Charlie Palmer Steak and more.

Entertainment will include cocktails as well as live and silent auctions for one-of-a-kind items and experiences, including a luxury, five-night trip to Paris; access to the announcers' box with Joe Beninati at a Washington Capitals game; a private dinner catered by Executive Chef at Charlie Palmer Steak Mike Ellis; and a VIP trip to the 2019 World Golf Championships-FedEx/St. Jude Invitational.

This year's St. Jude Gourmet Gala sponsors include UBS Financial Services, Inc., Airbus, Delta Airlines, Everfresh, PIMCO, BlackRock and New York Life, among others.
