Local STEM Charter School to Begin Accepting 2019-2020 Enrollment Applications

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Jan. 25, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Parents seeking to enroll their children in a STEM-focused and unique educational environment will soon have the opportunity, as the Tallahassee School of Math and Science (TSMS) begins accepting K-8 enrollment applications on Friday, Feb. 1, for the 2019-2020 school year. The application period will run through Friday, March 1.

TSMS will enroll students who submit timely applications, unless the number of applications exceeds the capacity of a program, class, grade level or building. In such cases, a public lottery will be held to determine which applicants are admitted. If necessary, the public lottery will be held on Tuesday, March 5. Parents will be notified in writing of their child's acceptance no later than March 22.

"At TSMS, we recognize the importance of student-parent-teacher relationships for a student's academic success. We provide students with a well-rounded elementary and middle school education with special emphasis on STEM and reading," said Ahmet Temel, principal of TSMS. "We're excited for the upcoming school year and look forward to welcoming new students this fall."

TSMS is designed to provide a research-based curriculum with an early focus on math and science education. The school offers a number of free extracurricular activities ? such as robotics, Science Olympiad, Math Olympiad and college tutoring, as well as soccer, basketball and art ? to allow students an opportunity to practice their knowledge outside of the classroom. Parents can enjoy real-time access to student grades and test results, and also enjoy knowing that their child is receiving the individual attention necessary to achieve their personal goals.
