Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted & Renzulli Learning Team Up to Provide Access for Gifted and Talented Students Nationwide

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y., Jan. 24, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- While nonprofit organizations are seeing a dip in donations (partly due to the raised tax deduction threshold) and struggling to keep their doors open, two organizations have formed a partnership to lower prices and give more people access to services that help them thrive. Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted, also known as SENG, and Renzulli Learning have teamed up to put their resources for social, emotional and academic support in homes and classrooms for the gifted, talented and twice-exceptional students across the nation.

The new plan reduces annual fees from $129 to $99 for standard members, to $75 for educators, and to $25 for seniors and students. New and improved benefits include a private online community, free SENGinar recordings by experts, discounts on workshops and conferences, and access to the Renzulli Learning Home Edition software. The Home Edition is an interactive online teaching system that provides a personalized learning environment for children and leads to higher academic performance both at home and in the classroom.

"Many social and emotional challenges faced by gifted and talented students can be resolved with support, specific pedagogy, and knowledge and understanding of their special needs," says Joe Renzulli, founder of Renzulli Learning. "We are delighted to announce the SENG partnership with Renzulli Learning and believe that the engagement and enrichment that is our educational focus can provide the kinds of challenge and engagement that these students need to develop their interests and gifts. We know that Renzulli Learning, used effectively, will help to prevent and reverse underachievement and enable students to thrive and achieve in school."

"It's important that we continue to build partnerships that provide the unique support systems needed by gifted, talented, and twice-exceptional people," says SENG Executive Director, Dr. Michael Postma. "As a nonprofit serving a unique population, we must continue to be creative in order to stay relevant while providing the right kinds of programs that will meet the social and emotional needs of all gifted communities."

The link between positive academic outcomes for specialized populations, and social and emotional support is intrinsic, favoring the best quality of life and learning for kids. Renzulli Learning helps increase a child's engagement in learning by focusing on their strengths, empowering children as they direct their own learning, leading to increased self-efficacy and increased self-confidence. SENG focuses on the social and emotional support of gifted, talented and twice-exceptional persons of all ages and backgrounds.
