Universal Life Church to Provide Free Meals to U.S. Coast Guard Members for Duration of Government Shutdown

SEATTLE, Jan. 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Universal Life Church (ULC) would like to thank the members of the U.S. Coast Guard for their dedication and service to this country. It is an admirable career they have undertaken ? and even more admirable that they are currently performing their duties without pay. The ULC recognizes the stress that the insanity of the current shutdown has placed on them and their loved ones, and thinks the fact that service members struggling to make ends meet during this difficult time is appalling. The church believes that it is its duty to offer a helping hand.

To that end, effective today, the ULC has formally extended an invitation to all active USCG members and their immediate families to dine free of charge at Eden Seattle, a restaurant located in the SoDo district of Seattle. This offer will remain in place for the duration of the government shutdown. The church asks only that members be in uniform and bring military I.D. Note that for legal reasons, alcoholic drinks are not included in this offer.

The restaurant's address is listed below:

Eden Seattle
1950 1st Ave S
Seattle, WA 98134

Americans are known for coming together to help one another through difficult times. The ULC wants USCG members who continue to work without pay to know that they are valued, and that the support of the community is behind them.

The ULC also invites all of the restaurants in Seattle to join in these efforts to help USCG members and their families by offering similar assistance.
