Warner Bros. Pictures and CJ 4DPLEX Extend Multi-Picture Deal to Release up to Six Films in ScreenX for 2019

Audiences will experience "Shazam!", "The Curse of La Llorona", and "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" in the immersive format, with more titles to be announced

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- CJ 4DPLEX (www.cj4dx.com), the world's leading cinema technology company, together with Warner Bros. Pictures announced today a multi-picture deal that will see up to six new films released globally in 2019 in the immersive 270-degree ScreenX format. The agreement extends the relationship between the two companies that previously included five films in 2018.

Under the agreement, the Studio's slate of ScreenX releases will include New Line Cinema's "Shazam!" on April 5^th and "The Curse of La Llorona" on April 19^th, followed by Warner Bros.' and Legendary Pictures' "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" on May 31^st, with three additional titles to be announced in the coming months. This will build on the success of the globally successful ScreenX engagements of "Rampage", "The Meg", "The Nun", "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" and "Aquaman".

ScreenX is the world's first multi-projection theatre technology that allows a 270-degree panoramic movie watching experience. ScreenX allows the audience to go beyond the frame of the traditional movie screen, utilizing a proprietary system to expand the center screen image to the side walls, surrounding audiences with imagery and providing a sense of being inside the movie.

ScreenX has quickly enhanced its international reach, successfully screening Hollywood blockbusters and local feature films alike, including a record of eight Hollywood blockbusters released in ScreenX this year. In the past 12 months alone, ScreenX has seen a surge in the number of ScreenX installed auditoriums, which have grown to 200, more than 30% increase year-over-year and will nearly double its footprint with the recently announced expansion plan with the Cineworld Group to open 100 locations across the U.S. and Europe.
