Enforcement Notice - Hearing - IIROC to Set Hearing Date for Vancouver Investment Advisor Brian Anthony Peters


VANCOUVER, Jan. 11, 2019 /CNW/ - An appearance has been scheduled before a Hearing Panel of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) for the purpose of setting a date for the disciplinary hearing in the matter of Brian Anthony Peters.

Specifically, the allegations are that:

a)

Between April 2011 and December 2012, Mr. Peters failed to use due diligence to learn and remain informed of the essential facts relative to his client, contrary to Dealer Member Rule 1300.1(a).



b)

Between October 2010 and December 2012, Mr. Peters failed to use due diligence to ensure that recommendations he made were suitable for the client, contrary to Dealer Member Rule 1300.1(q).



c)

Between October 2010 and December 2012, Mr. Peters executed transactions in the account of his client, without obtaining proper instruction or direction from the client, contrary to Dealer Member Rule 29.1.

IIROC formally initiated the investigation into Mr. Peters' conduct in July 2016. The alleged violations occurred while he was a Registered Representative with the Vancouver, British Columbia office of Canaccord Genuity Corp., an IIROC-regulated firm. Mr. Peters is still employed with Canaccord Genuity Corp.

The set date appearance is open to the public, unless the Hearing Panel orders otherwise. The date for the discipline hearing will be made available at www.iiroc.ca.
