Department of Education Awards General Dynamics Systems Integrator Support Contract


FAIRFAX, Va., Dec. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) announced today it will provide technology support services to the U.S. Department of Education through a new contract. The Portfolio of Integrated Value-Oriented Technologies - Integration (PIVOT-I) contract was awarded to SRA International LLC, a managed affiliate of GDIT. It holds an estimated ceiling value of $208 million and includes a base period of six months, with five one-year options and two award terms.

The Department of Education PIVOT contracts support a new portfolio of integrated, value-oriented technologies designed to optimize user experience. They also foster innovation to increase opportunities for improved IT infrastructure efficiency and effectiveness.  GDIT, as the PIVOT Integrator (PIVOT-I), will play a central role in the new Education IT enterprise. The company will provide situational awareness on status reporting, performance metrics, resource utilization, asset location and security incidents.

Through GDIT's experience operating in a complex, multi-vendor environment, the department will expand its capabilities, including end-user services, network, security and operations management. GDIT will also leverage its managed services portfolio and its Integrated Technology Center in Bossier City, Louisiana to provide a cost-effective model. This will allow a full operational awareness of the department's IT enterprise and inform future investment decisions. GDIT will also provide end-user support, unified communications, engineering, infrastructure oversight and monitoring support services.
