Fairstone Financial Inc. Announces Appointment of Patricia Curadeau-Grou as Chairperson of the Board


MONTREAL, Dec. 4, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Fairstone Financial Inc. ("Fairstone"), a privately-held consumer financing company, announced today the appointment of Ms. Patricia Curadeau-Grou as Chairperson of the Board of Directors ("the Board").

Ms. Curadeau-Grou brings over 25 years of extensive banking knowledge, specifically in the areas of business development, corporate planning and credit and risk management to the Board. Over the course of her career, she has held a number of senior positions at National Bank of Canada including: Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President, Finance, Risk and Treasury; and Strategic Advisor to the President and Chief Executive Officer.

Currently, Ms. Curadeau-Grou serves as a Director for Cogeco Communications, Pomerleau, and the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec as well as Director of a number of non-profit corporations. In 2007, she became a member of the Women's Executive Network Hall of Fame for Canada's most powerful women.

Ms. Curadeau-Grou has served as an independent member of Fairstone's Board of Directors since 2017, alongside Mr. Alain Dugal and Ms. Marie Giguère, who both joined in 2018.

Mr. Dugal held a successful 35-year career with PwC, where he provided finance and audit counsel. He was the managing partner of PwC's audit and assurance services in Quebec and a member of PwC Canada's audit and leadership team and Partnership Board.

Ms. Giguère brings extensive experience in corporate governance having served in executive leadership roles including Executive Vice President, Legal Affairs and Secretariat of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, Senior Vice President, Institutional Affairs and General Secretary of the Montreal Exchange, and Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and General Secretary of Molson Inc.
