The next meeting will take place in Ottawa, Ontario, from November 25 ? November 30, 2018. COSEWIC will determine the status of 39 Canadian wildlife species. Among these are a number of populations of West Coast Chinook Salmon, Greater Short-horned Lizard on the Prairies, Black Ash in the East, and, to the North, Polar Bear, Canada's largest land predator.

Following the meeting, at least one press release will be issued that summarizes the results of the discussions and that highlights ongoing Canadian conservation challenges and successful conservation actions.
