Boeing Joins Forces with Homes For Our Troops

TAUNTON, Mass., Nov. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Boeing Company has announced a $3 million, multi-year investment to help support Homes For Our Troops in its mission to build and donate specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans to enable them to rebuild their lives.

Boeing's contribution to Homes For Our Troops will support build projects for deserving Veterans slated for completion throughout the country over a three-year investment period. Currently, Homes For Our Troops has 81 projects in various phases of development with an additional 100 Veterans in the application process.

"This investment from Boeing will significantly enhance our organization's abilities to build homes," says General (Ret.) Richard Cody, Chairman of the Board, Homes For Our Troops. "More importantly, this support will transform lives, making daily living easier and safer for our injured warfighters, their caregivers, and families."

Boeing Global Engagement approaches its global community investments and employee engagement activities by supporting three key focus areas that shape and impact the communities where their employees live and work.  With a special emphasis on military Veterans and their families, Boeing has contributed nearly $50 million dollars to military and Veteran causes across the country in the past two years alone.

"Our people have unique skills and an unwavering passion for making a difference in the world, both through our products and services and the ways we give back to our communities," says Dennis Muilenburg, Boeing chairman, president and chief executive officer. "When that's combined with our professional networks, partnerships and financial resources, we have the potential to drive positive, lasting change across the globe in important areas such as STEM learning and Veterans' support."

About Homes For Our Troops (HFOT): Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) is a privately funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide to severely injured post-9/11 Veterans. Most of these Veterans have sustained life-altering injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives. Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar spent has gone directly to our program services supporting Veterans. For more information, visit www.hfotusa.org.
