Ellevate Network Partners with Negotiable to Help Women Build Skills to Self-Advocate

NEW YORK, Nov. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Ellevate Network, the leading network for professional women, is committed to providing women with the tools they need to advance their careers and works with partners to make that happen.

This week, Ellevate Network is launching their newest partnership with Negotiable, an online training tutorial developed by a leading negotiations scholar and professor in Columbia Business School's Management Division, Professor Daniel Ames.

New Executive- and Innovator-level members in the Ellevate Network community will now have access to Negotiable's curated 8-week curriculum. The program distills research and good practices on negotiating into an online, guided program, teaching general bargaining skills as well as giving the advice and tools needed to tackle job negotiations. It is designed for busy professionals and provides the opportunity to join a hand-picked Negotiation Team?a cohort of peers with whom to discuss the curriculum, role play tough scenarios, and get instant feedback on new skills.

"Negotiation, and working through differences with the people around us, are essential skills for professionals and leaders of all kinds. Research suggests that the stakes are often higher for women seeking to advocate for their own point of view without evoking backlash," said Daniel Ames, founder of Negotiable.

"Negotiable offers practical tools that build skills as well as confidence, helping people not just improve the odds of 'getting their way,' but also their potential for getting along with the people around them. We're excited to partner with Ellevate for this unique program."

This opportunity becomes an added benefit of Ellevate membership, to complement exclusive access to online resources created by members, for members, regular networking events held by Ellevate's 40+ chapters worldwide, and a global network of high-achieving industry leaders to lean on and learn from.

As an organization committed to helping women exceed their professional goals, as well as achieve equality at work, Ellevate Network is thrilled to partner with Negotiable to provide members of the community an opportunity to bolster their negotiation skills, which are essential for career advancement.

"Ellevate Network values taking action in order to reach our goals as professional women. Negotiation is a key factor in career advancement, and we have seen the change-making power women have when equipped with the right skills," said Kristy Wallace, CEO for Ellevate Network.

"Our partnership with Negotiable highlights our commitment to changing the culture of business from the inside out, to working towards equal pay for equal work, and our belief that diversity in leadership contributes to stronger businesses and communities. Getting women in positions of leadership starts with making sure every woman has the tools needed to advocate for her own career progression. We're proud to play this direct role in helping more women attain and hone skills they need to succeed."

"Ellevate provides an incredible context for negotiation skill-building," said Kim Karetsky, Founder and CEO of KHK Leadership and Learning, Ellevate member and collaborator on Negotiable. "Members can tap into the collective wisdom of the Ellevate community, getting advice, feedback, and support as they develop their capabilities. The best way to learn negotiation skills is with others and the Ellevate community and curriculum can provide a career-changing and even life-changing experience on this topic."

Non-members who are looking to gain access to Ellevate Network's many membership benefits, including access to the Negotiable platform, can sign up for membership here. In order to receive complementary access to Negotiable as a part of your Ellevate membership, apply by November 30th.
