Coastline College Celebrates #GivingTuesday and Kicks Off with "Shine Your Light" Campaign
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- #GivingTuesday is an international philanthropic movement intended to channel the collective power of individuals, communities, organizations and charities together to give back to those in need. This global day of giving event takes place on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, and this year falls on Tuesday, November 27, 2018. Coastline College is participating in #GivingTuesday, and would like to invite alumni, employees, local businesses, and the community to join our "Shine Your Light" campaign. We are asking everyone to please donate their time, services or money to support students in need.
Funds generated from Coastline's "Shine Your Light" #GivingTuesday campaign will benefit Coastline students through scholarships, programs and/or support services. Donors may select a fund nearest-and-dearest to their heart or select one of the recommended areas of support provided by the Coastline College Foundation. Those groups in need include the Coastline Promise, Veterans Resource Center (VRC), the General Scholarship Fund, and the Special Programs and Services for the Disabled (such as those participating in the Acquired Brain Injury Program or students with Intellectual Disabilities, and more). Donors may also contribute an unrestricted gift, so that the College may apply it to where the need is greatest.
Please challenge yourself this November 27th to join our "Shine Your Light" campaign and help make a positive impact on someone's life. Thanksgiving is a time to reflect, be thankful and compassionate. Give a hand to someone in need, help a veteran, a student in need of a scholarship, or an injured brain student. Bring a smile to someone's face and gain one back yourself. Every donation received will go to making these things possible for those in need.
