Pure Safety Group Chooses Houston as World Headquarters and Center for Global Training, Commits to Growing Jobs and U.S.-Made Products

HOUSTON, Oct. 22, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The world's largest dedicated provider of fall protection equipment, Pure Safety Group (PSG), announced that the company has selected Houston as its world headquarters and location of its new global training center. The company opens the doors to its 33,000-square-foot facility this month.

The building, located on E. Sam Houston Parkway S. in Pasadena, has 11,000 square feet of offices from which the global leadership team will manage the company. The training center, the largest dedicated to height safety in the world, features a new state-of-the-art training program that incorporates 12 structures in a 22,000-square-foot indoor environment for hands-on, real-time application of classroom learning. Structures include towers, connecting beams, a rebar wall triangle climbing structure, confined space environments, roof platform, ropes and cranes.

The company is also renovating a 54,000-square-foot manufacturing site in South Houston, where 165 workers will make equipment that helps prevent workers falling from structures. PSG products include body harnesses, lifelines, lanyards, safety nets and guardrails.

According to Brad Gates, PSG chief executive officer, Houston was selected because it's home to many of the company's target customers that have employees working at height. The location was also chosen because PSG is committed to manufacturing its products in the U.S.

"Our customers are energy, construction, general industry, utilities, telecommunication, transportation and other global growth industries. Manufacturing for these markets continues to be strong and will increase. Our board and leadership team recognized that we have a great opportunity to leverage this to grow jobs domestically," said Gates. In the past year, PSG has acquired four fall protection companies to become the world's largest company dedicated exclusively to height safety products and services. Gates adds that the company continues to hire manufacturing employees and has just completed the team that will train safety managers and workers from throughout the world in Houston at its new training center. The experiential learning approach gets new workers quickly up to speed and ready to work, particularly important during the tight employment environment.

"We're seeing great interest in the company in the Houston community," said Gates. "Our work is truly purpose-driven, which appeals to many people. What we do here in Houston helps keep workers throughout the world coming home safely to their families, day after day."
