Photographers John Paul Caponigro and NYC Dance Project Named 2018 Masters on Metal by Blazing Editions and ChromaLuxe

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- ChromaLuxe, the global leader in dye-sublimation metal prints in conjunction with fine art printmaker, Blazing Editions, announced today that environmental fine art photographer John Paul Caponigro and photography duo Ken Broward and Deborah Ory of NYC Dance Project have been named the featured photographers in the Blazing Editions/ChromaLuxe Collaboration Series: Masters on Metal.

Now in its third year, Masters on Metal showcases the work of select photographers at multiple events over the course of a year. The first event will be an exhibition at the PhotoPlus Expo in New York City, Oct. 25 ? 27, 2018. The exhibition will consist of more than 30 images by Caponigro, Broward, and Ory printed through dye-sublimation by Blazing Editions onto ChromaLuxe aluminum panels.

"ChromaLuxe is thrilled to work with NYC Dance Project and John Paul Caponigro on this year's edition of Masters on Metal," said Steve Flores, ChromaLuxe Global Brand Manager. "While their work is significantly different from each other, the imagery of both are a perfect match for ChromaLuxe aluminum panels. We can't wait to share these images with a larger audience and we thank Blazing Editions for their expertise in producing these prints."

John Paul Caponigro
Caponigro is an environmental fine art photographer who works with photo-based digital imaging as his primary medium. He has been awarded membership into many photographic organizations including the Photoshop Hall of Fame, the Epson Stylus Pros, and the Canon Explorers of Light. His clients include Adobe, Apple, Canon, Kodak, and Sony.

According to Caponigro, making large-scale 40 x 60-inch dye-sublimation ChromaLuxe metal prints offers a particular visual quality that brings more light and life to his works. "The ChromaLuxe process of printing on metal offers many opportunities including a unique ability to hold and reflect light, an expansive sense of scale and a more direct presentation of the print itself," Caponigro says. "Used appropriately, it can strengthen the life pulse that already exists within my work."

NYC Dance Project ? Ken Browar and Deborah Ory
NYC Dance Project was created by Ken Browar and Deborah Ory, who live in Brooklyn, NYC. Browar is a renowned fashion/beauty photographer and Ory brings to the project a background in dance and editorial photography. NYC Dance Project merges their experiences and creative passions to create unique and beautiful portraits of the New York City dance community. This project is a true collaboration between the photographers and the dancers. Each shoot is prepared as though it were its own dance production, with attention paid to every detail - movement, lighting and the feeling of each photograph.

After having some ChromaLuxe prints made through dye sublimation, the pair decided it was a good fit for their work and have continued to work with metal. "It felt like the images were floating, like they were 3-dimensional," Ory says of their exhibition of metal prints mounted on a black wall at Lincoln Center. "Using the metal for our prints gives the images a glow unlike any other surface. The colors are luminous."

Blazing Editions, headquartered in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, will once again provide all the printing for this partnership. They are known throughout the industry as one of the top printmakers. The Masters on Metal series started in 2016 and has featured the following photographers:

2018: John Paul Caponigro; NYC Dance Project
2017: Robert Farber
2016: Jay Maisel
