HelpUsAdopt.Org to Celebrate National Adoption Month In November With Milestone Announcement

NEW YORK, Oct. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In celebration of National Adoption Month this November, HelpUsAdopt.org, a 501(c)(3) global social impact organization, and the country's most inclusive adoption grant program, today announced an exciting milestone. Since 2007, HelpUsAdopt.org has awarded nearly $2.5 million in financial assistance, enabling 264 families to complete the cost of adopting their child. Founded 2007, HelpUsAdopt.org is the only organization of its kind that provides families regardless of race, religion, marital status, or sexual orientation with life-changing adoption grants up to $15,000.

Founded by Becky Fawcett, HelpUsAdopt.org has worked to remove the financial barrier that prevents couples and individuals from building their family through adoption for more than a decade. Through the experience of adopting two children, Fawcett and her husband found that there was a void in adoption grant organizations based on a mission of equality. To address this need and help all types of families, they founded Helpusadopt.org in 2007 to alleviate some of the expenses for other adoptive parents. It is the only organization of its kind that does not define family, does not charge its applicants to apply and supports all types of adoption including domestic, international, special needs and foster care.

"After the adoption of our first child, my husband and I knew that other qualified families must be struggling to foot the cost to create a family," said HelpUsAdopt.org Founder Becky Fawcett, "The costs for adopting in the United States can be steep. While foster care adoptions are often under $2,500, licensed private agency adoptions or attorney adoptions can total more than $40,000."

"The families that apply to us for adoption grants make heroic sacrifices to save the money for the cost of adoption for love a child they have never met," Fawcett added, "One way or another they are determined to adopt no matter what the cost. Families often go into financial ruin in order to complete their adoption; others are forced to live a childless life. And if families can't afford the high cost of adoption, what does that mean for the children around the globe who need homes? Over the past 10 years, Helpusadopt.org has worked to remove the financial barrier that prevents couples and individuals from building their family through adoption."

HelpUsAdopt.org's mission is as much about supporting adoptive parents as it is of social change. With the cost of adoption being so high, the future of children in need cannot be ignored. HelpUsAdopt.org not only builds families through adoption but gives children around the globe the loving and stable homes that they so do vitally need to thrive, prosper and reach their full potential. Many of the families HelpUsAdopt.org assists with the adoption grant program are knowingly adopting children with health issues. In many cases, the Helpusadopt.org grant awarded speeds up the process of these medically fragile children coming home sooner so that they can receive the medical treatment they so desperately need.
