CHICAGO, Oct. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Lakeside Bank will host its Second Annual, "Women 1st, Now We're Cooking!" Student Chef Competition. A dozen aspiring female chefs from Washburne Culinary Institute will compete for $10,000 in Lakeside Bank Education Scholarships.
The event will be held Thursday, October 25 at Galleria Marchetti beginning at 5:30pm. Galleria Marchetti is at 825 W. Erie Street, in Chicago, IL.
The dishes the female chefs prepare will be judged on how well they use local, seasonal, ingredients, with recipes inspired by a woman in their lives. The entrees will be prepared and served to all ... with Lakeside scholarships awarded to the winners!
James Beard award winning Chef Carrie Nahabedian of Brindille, and two-time James Beard award winning Chef Sarah Stegner of Prairie Grass Cafe, will be guest judges and speakers. They will choose the Grand Prize and Best Presentation winners. All attendees will taste the dishes and vote for a People's Choice prize. Emmy award winning Chicago News veteran Sylvia Perez with Fox 32 Chicago will serve as emcee.

Washburne Culinary & Hospitality Institute is the oldest culinary training school in the city and one of the oldest in the country. It is part of the Chicago City Colleges.
