NABCEP Officially Expands into MENA Region

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y., Oct. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP), the most widely respected certification organization in the renewable energy industry, announced that it recently launched its NABCEP MENA (Middle East North Africa) Program to further its expansion outside of the United States. The NABCEP MENA Program will advance uniform standards of practice in the MENA region's renewable energy industry through partnerships which provide technical training opportunities for regional solar energy workers and job seekers.

NABCEP partnered with Excellent for Energy Consultancy (EEConsult), a US-based company represented by the CEO Mr. Khaled AlSarhan, to develop the NABCEP MENA Program. EEConsult provides consultation for energy services, power system studies, industrial solutions, and advanced training. EEConsult has strong relationships with leading players in the power system field throughout the MENA region.

"Economic growth in the MENA region combined with solar energy policy reforms and increased foreign investment will lead to a huge surge in PV deployment," said Shawn O'Brien, Executive Director of NABCEP. "In an area that is blessed with an abundance of sunlight, PV can totally transform the energy landscape in the MENA region, and NABCEP is committed to helping. Through our partnership with EEConsult, we will assist local utilities, governments, and other organizations in the region to train PV professionals and follow uniform standards of practice within the industry, which will lead to a more robust PV labor market and better quality control."

The NABCEP MENA Program, led by EEConsult, developed partnerships with the Irbid Chamber of Commerce, with public universities and more entities are expecting to join soon. NABCEP expects that these partnerships will result in thousands of professionals in the region earning a NABCEP Board Certification.
