Supporters of Warrior Care Network Host Veterans at Golf Tournament

CARLSBAD, Calif., Oct. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Blue Angels Foundation is teaming up with Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) to help drive vital mental health care for wounded veterans. By supporting WWP's Warrior Care Network®, the foundation will increase access to world-class mental health treatment.

The Blue Angels Foundation Konica Minolta Golf & Tennis Classic brings veterans and supporters together while helping drive mental health treatment for veterans. Blue Angels Foundation is partnering with Wounded Warrior Project to help increase veteran access to care.

The weekend of Oct. 4-7, the Blue Angels Foundation is bringing warriors and supporters together during the Blue Angels Foundation Konica Minolta Golf & Tennis Classic at Park Hyatt Aviara® Resort in Carlsbad.

"The Blue Angels Foundation is making an aggressive commitment to save lives," said Mike Campbell, board president at Blue Angels Foundation. "Partnering and aligning with Wounded Warrior Project and Warrior Care Network allows us the ability to extend our reach by combining branding and resources to significantly reduce veteran suicides."

Warrior Care Network is an innovative collaboration between WWP and four academic medical centers. Through this partnership, Warrior Care Network provides a year's worth of clinical mental health care in two- to three-week intensive programs.

"The generous support of the Blue Angels Foundation helps Wounded Warrior Project honor our commitment to our nation's veterans," said Gary Corless, WWP chief development officer. "This tournament raises funds that help us offer critical mental health services to warriors at no charge ? because they paid their dues on the battlefield."

Participants at the Blue Angels Foundation Konica Minolta Golf & Tennis Classic will hit the links on two of three golf courses during the weekend, Del Mar Country Club and The Park Hyatt Aviara Resort Golf Course. Tennis participants will play at Aviara's tennis facility.
