The Cohen Veterans Network Earns the Highest Rating for Quality of Consumer Programs and Services

STAMFORD, Conn., Oct. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Cohen Veterans Network (CVN), a national not-for-profit philanthropic organization, has reached another milestone in its mission to serve post-9/11 veterans and families with high-quality, confidential mental health care. All eligible CVN clinics have earned the top grade from industry-leading accrediting body the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

CARF International announced that six Cohen Clinics have received this recognition. The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinics located in Philadelphia, PA; Clarksville, TN; as well as those in Dallas, San Antonio, El Paso and Killeen, TX have all earned the prestigious accreditation. To be eligible for a CARF survey, a clinic typically needs to be operational for a year, and all CVN Clinics nationwide are expected to be surveyed as soon as they are eligible.

"This accomplishment is a direct reflection of the commitment to quality displayed across the network. Our community-based model emphasizes programming relevant to the unique communities we are integrated in, but all of our clinics are unified by a commitment to serve and meet the highest quality standards," said Crystal Shelton, Cohen Veterans Network Senior Vice President for Clinical Programs.

This decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be given to an organization and shows the organization's substantial conformance to the CARF standards. According to CARF, an organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process. The Cohen Clinics have demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit a commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.
