Gray Tools Launches Online Game for Students Enrolled in Post-Secondary Trade Programs

BRAMPTON, Ontario, Sept. 12, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Gray Tools Canada Inc. announces the launch of a national School and Student game. The online game, which can be accessed at www.student.graytools.com, runs from September 1 until December 31, 2018. The game is designed to engage students, program coordinators and professors who teach post-secondary trades programs such as Millwright, Pipefitter, Welding and Automotive Technician.

According to Dragos Baicoianu, Brand Manager, "The purpose of the game is to connect with students and educators in a fun and entertaining way. The initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to support and encourage individuals pursuing careers in the skilled trades. This game builds upon our commitment to the future generation of trades people."

The game is free to join and consists of two components: the student and the school. The student component requires that students complete a series of activities to earn points. Some of the activities include logging in on consecutive days, sharing the game with friends, posting on social media and completing daily tasks. The top 151 players ranked by the number of points will be awarded prizes. The grand prize is a master set valued at over $3,400. Fifty $50 gift cards and one hundred ball caps will be awarded as second and third place prices. The institution component rewards the post-secondary school with the greatest number of participating students with a grand prize of a $2,000 gift card redeemable at www.shopgraytools.com.

The game play dashboard is easy to navigate and allows players to quickly see their school and individual points ranking, along with an indicator of how many points they need to earn before moving up to the next prize level.

Any student enrolled in a trades program during the fall of 2018 is eligible to enroll. Enrollment is quick and easy and immediately earns players points.

"A year ago, we launched our Student Program which runs exclusively at ShopGrayTools.com. That was done to help students enrolled in trade programs be work-ready with quality tools at discounted prices. This game furthers our connection with the next generation of tradespeople. We believe there is going to be a critical shortage of skilled tradespeople in the very near future. Both parents and the education system need to encourage and support individuals considering a career in the trades. Anything we can do to support and encourage is a small token," according to company President Gary Nuttall.
