Governor Cooper Appoints Anabel Rosa to Advisory Council


DURHAM, N.C., Aug. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Governor Roy Cooper selected James Scott Farrin attorney Anabel Rosa to serve on the Governor's Advisory Council on Hispanic Latino Affairs. Rosa also serves on that council's Subcommittee for Economic Development.

In a press release, Governor Cooper said, "I appreciate the dedication these appointees bring to serving our state. We're fortunate to have their skills and experience on our state boards and commissions."

Anabel is involved in helping the Hispanic/Latino community, and received the 2018 "Triangle Business Journal" Women in Business award for her efforts.

Often sought by the Hispanic media, Rosa is scheduled to appear on the Durham Television Network, "CityLife," during Hispanic Heritage Month in September.  

She serves as chair to the City of Durham Mayor's Hispanic/Latino Committee, and has helped organize pro bono citizenship clinics in North Carolina.

As Hispanic/Latino Division chair with the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ), and as the Diversity Committee task force member, she has been a driving force of the NCAJ's newly created immigration division. She also recruited James Scott Farrin attorneys to help Latinos update legal documents pro bono. She has held various leadership roles within the NCAJ's Hispanic/Latino division and received the NCAJ Order of Service award as a result.
