Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue to Host Fundraiser: Boston Bonanza... 20 Years and Counting

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich., July 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue (MWBTR) announces that its annual summer fundraiser will step it up a notch in celebration of the organization's 20th anniversary. The Saturday, July 28th event, Boston Bonanza... 20 Years and Counting, will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 PM CDT at the Craft House, 711 Plaza Drive, Chesterton, IN.

This annual event helps raise the necessary funds to continue the mission of the organization, but 2018 is special as it marks a twenty-year milestone. "We are funded entirely by donations and run by the hearts of our volunteers who are dedicated to rescuing Boston Terriers and finding them permanent homes," commented Gwen Eder, MWBTR co-founder.

Craft House welcomes people and pups on the patio for this fundraiser. Tickets cost $35.00 per person and include a buffet dinner, silent auction and "doggy bags" of goodies for furry family members. Those interested in celebrating can purchase tickets on Eventbrite.com by searching "MWBTR" or "Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue". More details can also be found on the non-profit's Facebook page.

Each year, the breed-specific rescue re-homes 250 to 300 Boston Terriers in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio that they save from a variety of situations: from kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, to puppy mill survivors. Each animal receives necessary individualized medical care, with expenses starting at $350, and are fostered in a breed-knowledgeable home prior to being adopted by a new loving, responsible home.

"We rescue Boston Terriers because we know and love this breed, and for no other reason than our concern for their welfare," states Eder. "So many dogs are dumped, lost or given up and unfortunately this breed is no exception."
