Atlas Growers Appoints Mr. Jim Courtney to Board of Directors


EDMONTON, Alberta, May 08, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ATLAS GROWERS LTD. ("Atlas or the Corporation) announces the appointment of Mr. Jim Courtney to the board of directors effective immediately. Mr. Courtney will assist the Corporation with innovation, governance, education and mentorship for becoming a licensed producer of medical cannabis internationally.

Mr. Courtney is president of Courtney Corp., an investment company with a culture of innovation and advancement in sectors of the Canadian and global economy. Mr. Courtney has been Chief Executive Officer ("CEO) of the CBI Group of Companies which included an engineering entity, a manufacturing entity and a United States sales subsidiary. This group of companies created partnerships with government, suppliers, customers and employees to revolutionize agriculture, oil field and commercial divisions.

Mr. Courtney serves as a director on several boards including; Christina River Enterprises, Olds College (Board Effectiveness Committee, Chairman of Audit Committee, Old College Trust Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Chairman of Olds College Campaign Board of Directors), Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry, Three Hills Golf Course, Prairie Implement Manufacturing, Careers the Next Generation (Chairman of Audit Committee) and Alberta High School Requirements Advisor. In addition, Mr. Courtney is Chairman of NTL Pipelines, CEO of NTL Group of Companies, a member of the Aboriginal Business Mentorship Program and is an investor and mentor of B4T (Business For Transition).
