Keynoting the meeting will be Rep. John Katko (R-NY) who serves as a Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee "Task Force on Combating Terrorist and Foreign Fighter Travel" as well as Chair of the Committee's Transportation Security Subcommittee.

"We face a constantly evolving terrorist threat to the United States homeland, and Congress must remain vigilant to protect the American people. Violent Islamist extremism is surging, and terrorist groups are attracting recruits from all corners of the globe," said Katko. "I am honored for the opportunity to speak with stakeholders and vested groups about the need for securing our borders and protecting America from violent extremism. This Congress, my colleagues and I have worked to ensure that we look at all aspects of our national security as it pertains to foreign travel. I look forward to an expanded dialogue regarding this important issue at the upcoming BORDERPOL International Security Meeting.

Speakers include:

"As a leading provider of biometric and identity management solutions, 3M has worked in partnership with governments worldwide to secure borders and identify travelers," said Ramsey Billups, 3M federal systems business manager. "The issue of stemming the flow of terrorist travel in an era of increasing threats requires public-private partnerships to hone technology and travel documents. The BORDERPOL conference provides a unique opportunity to bolster these efforts going forward, and we are excited to be involved."

Janice Kephart, North America BORDERPOL Director and former 9/11 Commission border counsel responsible for organizing the meeting, conveyed the urgency of bringing top talent within the international community together: "This meeting is unprecedented, and of high need. BORDERPOL is committed to addressing the critical need of curtailing terrorist travel."

This event is coordinated by the Secure Identity & Biometrics Association (SIBA), a non-profit association promoting responsible policy, education and implementation of solutions that protect and secure identity across private and public platforms. On June 1, 2015, SIBA announced its new Chairman, Troy Potter, Vice President of two sectors of L-3 National Security Solutions.
