Not What Defines Us Launches a New Online Community to Support Survivors of Sexual Assault
Survivors can join the anonymous, confidential online community and join a safe space to give and receive support during their healing journey
DANVERS, Mass., April 17, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Not What Defines Us (https://notwhatdefinesus.org/), a groundbreaking new non-profit dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual assault, is excited to announce the launch of their organization. With a mission to provide comprehensive resources and expert insights through an anonymous, supportive online platform, Not What Defines Us aims to create a safe and supportive community for those affected by sexual violence to move forward in their healing journey.
Sexual assault remains a pervasive issue affecting individuals of all backgrounds, genders, and ages, where survivors are often unable to talk openly about their struggles to help move past the trauma. Not What Defines Us provides a safe space where survivors can give and receive support on their healing journeys, find inspiration, and access valuable information from both fellow survivors and professionals.

Not What Defines Us invites survivors, allies, and community members to join us in our mission to support survivors of sexual violence. Survivors can join the anonymous, confidential online community for free, thanks to generous donors supporting the mission of the non-profit.
"I was very young when my assault occurred and the first person I shared with was a family member. They didn't believe me and it was so hard," says anonymous team member. "I want everyone to be heard, believed and not judged. This is not what defines us. Together we are all stronger. I am here to be part of that strength."
