Cuba Gooding, Jr Finds Redemption in ?The Firing Squad' Movie

LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / March 22, 2024 / The highly-awaited faith-based movie ‘The Firing Squad' hitting theaters August 9, 2024 features Oscar-winning actor Cuba Gooding, Jr. and well-known Christian actor Kevin Sorbo.

Based on the incredible true story of Christian prisoners who face execution in a third world and their impossible joy in Christ wins over the entire prison camp.

The character Cuba Gooding, Jr plays finds redemption in Christ after being a drug-dealer now facing execution in a third world country.

But in real life, Cuba also has found redemption in Jesus and forgiveness in himself towards others and for others.

"Cuba's a changed man," says Director Tim Chey. "He really recommitted his life to the Lord and was a different guy than the one who did my previous film a few years back."

Chey and Cuba collaborated on Chey's previously acclaimed-film "Freedom" for Showtime that reached 40 million households in 2014.

Cuba's mother, Shirley Gooding, says, "'The Firing Squad' is the greatest movie Cuba has ever done" and she's determined to advise Cuba to take roles that will honor God more.

"We all stand before a real God someday when we die," says Tim Chey. "Jesus said if you don't forgive others you will not be forgiven in Matthew 6:15 so Cuba takes that seriously and has learned to forgive others and forgive himself. I love that the most about him. He's a very quiet, humble guy and it shows when people approach us in public to get a selfie. He smiles and says ‘Sure' and takes the selfie."

Packed crowds have been at almost every screening from Los Angeles to Nashville as ‘The Firing Squad' has brought many to tears.

Brett Farve, the NFL legend, says "this movie will make a grown man cry. Get up off your chair and see this."

The filmmakers are engaged in the "one million souls for Christ" campaign and truly believe they will win one million souls to Christ through this movie.
