FRENCH BULLDOG IS DALLAS'S NUMBER ONE BREED


Nationally, French Bulldog Holds On To The Top Spot

NEW YORK, March 20, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- After being named Dallas's #1 dog breed in 2022, the French Bulldog once again took Dallas's top spot in the American Kennel Club's (AKC®) 2023 ranking of the most popular AKC-recognized dog breeds in the U.S.

The French Bulldog was also recognized as the #1 pup in Boston and Atlanta.

Dallas's top five saw some switch ups, with the Bulldog and the Labrador Retriever swapping places, with the Bulldog at #4 for 2023 and the Lab at #3. The Poodle dropped down in Dallas's ranking, standing at #5 in 2022 and #8 for 2023.

"It comes as no surprise that the French Bulldog is number one in Dallas once again," said AKC Executive Secretary Gina DiNardo.  "This affectionate and one-of-a-kind breed gets along well with couples, singles, and families."

Frenchies are very popular among city dwellers, as they're also portable and get along with almost anyone.
