FRENCH BULLDOG REPLACES GOLDEN RETRIEVER AS MOST POPULAR BREED IN DENVER
Nationally, French Bulldog Holds On To The Top Spot
NEW YORK, March 20, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- This year, the French Bulldog took the Golden Retriever's top spot in the American Kennel Club's (AKC®) 2023 ranking of the most popular AKC-recognized dog breeds in the U.S.
The French Bulldog was also recognized as the #1 pup in Miami, FL, and Los Angeles, CA.
The Border Collie shoots up in the ranks, taking over the 11th spot from the Australian Shepherds. Meanwhile, the Pembroke Welsh Corgis broke into the top ten this year.
"It is no surprise that the French Bulldog took over the top spot in the ranks," said AKC Executive Secretary Gina DiNardo. "They're affectionate, patient, and highly adaptable pets."
