Media Advisory - Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Musical Ride Annual Open House
OTTAWA, ON, Feb. 19, 2024 /CNW/ - The RCMP's world-famous Musical Ride will be holding its annual Open House. This popular community event gives the public an opportunity to tour the Musical Ride stables and meet the riders and horses.
Date: Saturday, February 24, 2024
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Place: The Musical Ride Centre, 1 Sandridge Road (at St. Laurent Blvd.). Limited free parking on site.
Media registration deadline: By February 21, 2024, 1:00 pm EST
Media arrival: Members of the media are asked to arrive at the RCMP Musical Ride facilities at 9:50 a.m. EST or confirm a different time of arrival. Please park in visitors parking across from the stables or along the sidewalk in front of the stables and proceed on foot to meet with your escort. Visitors must be accompanied at all times.
Other media opportunities can be arranged upon request.
Admission: Admission is free, but we encourage visitors to bring cash or a non-perishable food item to donate to the Ottawa Food Bank. In 2023, the event raised more than $3,000 and collected approximately 2,300 pounds of food.
- Stable tours and farrier demonstrations of hoof care for the Musical Ride horses.
- RCMP demonstrations and displays by the Tactical Troop, the Emergency Response Team, the Explosives Disposal and Technology Branch, RCMP police vehicles and more.
- Photo opportunities with riders and horses and the RCMP mascot, Safety Bear.
- The RCMP Pipes and Drums will perform at 1:00 pm.
