Whoopi Goldberg Makes Blackstone Publishing Deal with Soul-Stirring Family Memoir "Bits and Pieces"

NEW YORK, Jan. 26, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Award-winning actor and bestselling author Whoopi Goldberg has inked a deal with Blackstone Publishing to release an intimate and heartfelt memoir of her early life: a moving tribute from a daughter to her mother titled Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me.

Over the course of her four-decade career, Goldberg was the first Black entertainer to achieve EGOT status and currently stands amongst an elite club of a mere 18 total artists to have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. Now for the first time ever, Goldberg invites audiences to get a rare peek behind the curtain into the deeply personal stories of growing up in the projects of New York City, and the experiences with her mother and brother that shaped her early life leading up to her iconic rise to stardom. Releasing on May 7, 2024, the semi-autobiographical book chronicles the early influences behind one of the most influential voices of our generation. Within her new nonfiction memoir, she shares the riveting events from her childhood and posthumous stories of her mother, Emma Harris, and brother, Clyde K. Johnson. The book details the exact moment the trajectory of Goldberg's life changed, when her mother returned from the hospital with the memories of her children erased.
