VetsinTech Announces it is the Recipient of Boeing Grant for Veteran and Military Spouse Tech Training

Boeing Awards New Grant for VetsinTech to Expand Training in Tech-Focused Fields

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 24, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- VetsinTech, the leading national non-profit dedicated to supporting veterans through tech-based programs and opportunities in education, employment, and entrepreneurship, announced that Boeing has awarded them another grant to train veterans and military spouses. Continuing the ongoing momentum between the two parties, over the next fiscal year, VetsinTech will provide training for veterans from the state of Washington, focusing on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and web development, where the demand for skilled workers exceeds the supply.

"We're thrilled Boeing has doubled down on investing in veterans' tech skills training and development. This new grant enables us to expand our training programs to help many more veterans and milspouses hone their tech-based skills and compete for lucrative jobs across Washington's booming tech sector," stated Katherine Webster, Founder and CEO of VetsInTech.

The grant from Boeing comes at a critical time. The unemployment rate for veterans was 3.6% in August 2023, up from 2.8% the previous month, according to the Department of Labor, underscoring the need for assisting veterans with skills training and workforce reentry programs.

As a leading aerospace company, Boeing develops, manufactures and services commercial airplanes, defense products and space systems for customers around the globe. The company also offers job opportunities for military veterans in various tech-related roles, including engineering, information technology, and cybersecurity.

"Boeing recognizes and values our veterans' unique skills, training and selfless dedication. We're committed to providing veterans with various pathways so that they can thrive upon returning to civilian life," said Gina Breukelman with Boeing Global Engagement. "This grant to VetsinTech will facilitate advanced training for veterans and military spouses in Washington."

VetsinTech will begin announcing Boeing grant-funded programs in Washington in early 2024, with details to be announced in the coming weeks.
