FAIRFIELD, N.J., May 15, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Hycrete, Inc., a leading innovator in waterproofing solutions, has been granted a US Patent for their cutting-edge chemically reactive surface-applied waterproofing for post-construction materials. The patent number is 11,554,995, published on April 27, 2023. (US 2023/0129959A1)

This patented technology is not a surface coating. This invention provides a cost-effective, non-invasive, and efficient way to waterproof post-construction materials such as concrete, masonry, and wood. When applied to the surface of concrete, this waterproofing material soaks in. Then a second cross-linking material is applied and polymerizes the first waterproofing material as it soaks into the concrete. This chemistry occurs within the concrete just below the surface.

This invention forms a water-insoluble polymer sealant in the pores and fissures beneath the surface. The treated concrete becomes resistant to water and other environmental factors.

"We are proud to announce the issuance of this patent, demonstrating our commitment to delivering innovative and effective waterproofing and corrosion protection to our customers," said Philip Rhodes, Vice President of Hycrete. "This patented technology offers a versatile and efficient protection method that can be used in various construction applications."

The chemically reactive two-part surface application process does not require anything beyond pressure washing prior to the application of the material, making it a cost-effective and less time-consuming solution. It can also be applied to horizontal and vertical surfaces, making it a versatile solution for various construction applications. Applications include existing contaminated structures such as bridges, pilings, piers, and parking structures.

Hycrete's patented technology provides a reliable and durable waterproofing solution that is resistant to water and other environmental factors and can help extend the life of post-construction materials.
