SANTA BARBARA, Calif., May 10, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Pacifica Graduate Institute proudly celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a special event on May 15th. This gathering will feature a variety of activities that showcase the rich cultural heritage of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

Taking place on Monday, May 15th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM PT at Pacifica Graduate Institute's Ladera Lane Campus in Santa Barbara, this event is free and open to the public.

The celebration will include a keynote presentation by the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation Presidio Research Center, who recently showcased their Filipino Oral History Project, a collection of stories and archives showing the rich history of the Filipino community in Santa Barbara. In addition to our keynote presentation, the evening will feature traditional Asian and Pacific Islander food, music, and art. Attendees will experience engaging talks and panel discussions from leading Asian American and Pacific Islander scholars, therapists, and healers. We are also hosting a free Webinar, A Myth from the Philippines: A Drooling Ten-Headed Being: Insights into Our Life of Communications and Change, on May 17th, 2023.
