Playing it Safe with Egg Safety

SILVER SPRING, Md., April 4, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Eggs are a popular food all year long, but especially during this time of year for springtime celebrations, such as Easter and Passover. But, even during festive occasions, eggs can cause food poisoning (also called foodborne illness). That's why it's important to follow safe food handling practices when buying, storing, preparing, and serving eggs or foods that contain them during these springtime celebrations and throughout the year.

Harmful Salmonella bacteria can be found on both the outside and inside of eggs that look perfectly normal. Protect yourself and your family by following these food safety tips to prevent food poisoning:

Clean

Separate

Cook

Chill
