Media Advisory - This Earth Day Parents Across Canada Coming Together to Hold Decision Makers Accountable

VANCOUVER, BC, OTTAWA, ON, TORONTO, MONTREAL and LONDON, ON, April 19, 2021 /CNW/ - This Earth Day, parents across Canada are taking action to hold decision makers accountable for environmental progress, needed now more than ever. Motivated by love for their children, they are acting in covid-safe ways in their communities and through a national network called For Our Kids.

These parents and and their activities include:

• Marianne Ariganello in Ottawa working with other local parents and kids on pop up art displays drawing attention to municipal decisions that don't align with the city's climate emergency declaration.
• Natalie Caine in Montreal working with other local parents to clean up discarded disposable masks around schools and neighbourhoods and asking Quebec Premier Francois Legault to change the rules leading to this waste.
• Marian Hakze in North Vancouver working with other local parents to create two banners urging BC Premier John Horgan to protect old growth forests.
• Lella Blumer in London contacting her financial advisor and the CEO of TD to urge the bank to stop funding billions in fossil fuel projects, and encouraging other parents to do the same.
• Brianne Wyte in Toronto working with other local parents to contact their MPs to strengthen Bill C-12, federal climate accountability legislation.
• Eugenie Waters, a mom and a doctor co-releasing a video message to Prime Minister Trudeau in collaboration with the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment.
