What To Do If You Ever Have A Flat Tire Situation

No matter how experienced of a driver you are, you might come to a point where you don’t know what to do if you have a flat tyre. If you have one of those luxurious, expensive cars, or use a regular car, we would like to let you know that you can never know enough about what to do if there’s a flat tyre, because they’re very frightening actually. In order to avoid the hassle of this issue, here is a guide to help you work it out:

Know Which Scenario You Are In And What Are You Supposed To Do Next

  1. A parked car
Finding a flat before getting on the road is much less stressful than having it blow out while driving. First of all, you have to do some simple inspections before you fix it. Before changing your tyre, check for any nails or pointed objects that could have caused the damage. If you find any, then your tyre needs to be replaced. If not, then your tyre is simply low on air and you can just change it.

  2. A driving car
This can be a very stressful scenario for the driver, especially if they’ve never experienced it before. However, in this case, you need to try to not panic and slowly start pulling over to the right side of the road. Once you park, start looking for help to put on your spare tyre.

Decide Whether You Can Do It On Your Own Or Not

Changing a flat tyre can be very challenging for some people, which is why many people can’t do it. For such scenarios, it is recommended that you ask for a professional’s to avoid any complications. As mentioned by the veterans at Toronto Tow Truck service, getting a skilled person’s help will get things done better and quicker. That’s why most of the people who live in Toronto don’t hesitate to call a tow truck service to help them out.

Get Your Tools Ready And Use The Spare Tyre

Once you decide you are going to do this on your own, you need to get your tools ready and follow these steps:

  1. Park your car on the nearest flat surface of the street.

  2. Turn on your hazard lights and take out your hazard sign for safety.

  3. Turn off the car’s engine and make sure you pull the hand brake to guarantee your car won’t slide down the road.

  4. Use the tyre wrench to loosen the nuts on the flat tyre.

  5. Use the jack under the tyre to raise it 2 inches above the ground and make sure it’s properly placed to carry the weight of the car.

  6. Remove the flat tyre’s nuts and then remove the tyre itself.

  7. Insert the spare tyre and start placing the tyre nuts again, making sure they are tightened properly.

  8. Remove the jack and the rest of the tools.

The most important thing in such situations is to try to stay in order to not take the wrong action. Additionally, don’t be afraid to ask for help from someone who is experienced in such situations. Also, remember that no matter what, never drive with a flat tyre for your own safety.
