Hemp Legalization Changes Everything for CBD Oil Users

FLOWER MOUND, Texas, Dec. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Five decades of hemp prohibition ended today when the 2018 Farm Bill was signed into law by President Trump. The new law officially removes hemp and its extracts from the federal list of controlled substances and legalizes hemp production in all 50 states.

This is obviously a huge win for hemp farmers, hemp businesses and the U.S. cannabis industry as a whole. It's expected to drive a sharp increase in today's $800 million U.S. hemp market up to as much as $20 billion by 2022 according to some estimates.

But what will the legalization of hemp mean for users of CBD oil products? In many ways, it changes everything...and it's all good news for consumers.

  1. Legal Clarity - it eliminates the legal ambiguity of hemp-derived CBD oil products.
  2. Lower Prices - more companies will enter the business of growing and making CBD oil products. The increased supply is expected to result in lower prices over time.
  3. Better Local Availability - more big-name retail stores will likely begin selling CBD oil products.
  4. Easier Online Buying - CBD companies will get access to domestic payment processing solutions that will eliminate online ordering pain points caused by foreign processors.
  5. Product Innovation - a new wave of CBD-infused food, beverage and skin care products are expected to hit the market.
  6. More Research - new funding for research that can improve CBD product development and more definitively determine the effectiveness of CBD oil products for health and wellness.

"This is truly a landmark day for the hemp industry and users of CBD oil products," Brian Peterson, the managing editor of CBDOilUsers.com, said. "It's a big deal for CBD consumers who will ultimately benefit from easier accessibility, better products and lower prices. CBD oil products were already creating a huge buzz among those using them for a wide range of therapeutic benefits. We expect the federal legalization of hemp to take their popularity to new heights."
