Academic Programs International Recognized by The Forum On Education Abroad Quality Improvement Program

AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Academic Programs International (API) is thrilled to announce that we have received official recognition by The Forum on Education Abroad's Quality Improvement Program for Education Abroad (QUIP).

The Forum's QUIP program is a rigorous process of self-study and peer review that recognizes institutions and organizations for meeting the Standards of Good Practice for Education Abroad while offering suggestions and recommendations for quality improvement.

"As the first third-party program provider to support the creation of the Forum on Education Abroad during its inception stage, API is a longstanding advocate and committed member of the Forum on Education Abroad.

Through the QUIP review process, it was important to us to demonstrate API's commitment to the Standards of Best Practice and to ensure that we continue to respond to the evolving needs of study abroad participants and our university partners. The rigorous self-study provided us an opportunity to examine every aspect of our programming, policies, and services, and the site visits by QUIP Peer Reviewers and Forum staff allowed us to showcase our strong commitment to customer service, emergency preparedness, student support, and our committed API personnel. It was a pleasure to be recognized as being in substantial conformity with all of the Standards of Best Practice and we look forward to incorporating their feedback to grow API even stronger in the future!" -- Jennifer Attal Allen, API President and CEO

API would like to thank the Forum on Education Abroad, the review committee, and our colleagues in the field of international education for helping to create and uphold these important standards.

The Forum on Education Abroad develops and disseminates comprehensive standards of good practice, resources and training, advocates for education abroad and its value, and engages the field in critical dialogue to benefit students. The Forum is recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission as the Standards Development Organization for Education Abroad. The Forum is an institutional membership association and welcomes as members all institutions of higher education, consortia, agencies, and organizations who are committed to improving education abroad. The Forum was established in 2001 and currently has over 800 institutional members. The Forum on Education Abroad is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.
