First Network for Concierge and Private Medicine Physicians Launches to Improve Access to Care for Member Patients

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Shifting trends across the healthcare landscape, including the degradation of the doctor-patient relationship, increased bureaucracy, longer wait times and impersonal care, have made primary care doctor selection a challenge for many patients. This challenge has spawned significant growth in the concierge and private medicine segments of healthcare in recent years, with estimates now showing that nearly 3 million Americans have opted to abandon the traditional primary care system in favor of membership-based medicine practices. And while patients have been drawn to these practices by the zero-to-low wait times for appointments, more personalized service, direct physician access and other benefits of this high-touch model of care, one challenge remains: how to obtain access to a similar model of care when away from home.

The founders of ROAMD decided to solve that inherent challenge, launching the first-ever network of high-end, membership-based medicine practices that provide ROAMD member patients with access to like-minded practices when they are traveling away from home. Additionally, ROAMD is forming partnerships with leading research and specialist medical centers to offer member patients access to a more personalized care experience in those settings. ROAMD has already enrolled over 150 physicians across more than 75 locations in its network prior to its official launch in the fourth quarter of 2018.

"ROAMD is on a mission to build a community of like-minded, forward-thinking doctors with the explicit goal of improving the lives of our patients and our members," said Dr. Jordan Shlain, founder and managing partner of Private Medical in San Francisco and chair of the ROAMD Physician Advisory Council. "The power of ROAMD is the power of the network. Our doctors are unique and believe we can create something extraordinary that provides immense value to our patients, our practices and the overall healthcare experience."

"We are incredibly excited to partner with our member physicians to continue building the ROAMD network," said Dan Driscoll, chief executive officer of ROAMD. "Through our network, we are able to enhance the satisfaction of both our member physicians and their patients by facilitating access to exceptional healthcare experiences, while linking together high-end concierge and private medicine doctors in a curated community dedicated to sharing best practices and support."

The network's proposition is resonating with physicians, evidenced by its success in recruiting a well-respected Physicians Advisory Council and over 150 doctors to be part of the network at launch. ROAMD hosted its first network summit for member physicians Oct. 4 and 5 in New Orleans and continues to see substantial growth in its network's geographic reach and service offerings.
