Telecoming Promotes African Edutainment in South Africa

MADRID, October 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --

Telecoming, the European technology company specialised in direct carrier billing technologies, consolidates its position in South Africa's digital edutainment market with Bino & Fino's show.

Telecoming has launched the children's educational programme Bino & Fino aimed at a young local audience in SA. The Nigerian show aims to promote African culture among kids, as well as identity through entertainment.

Bino & Fino, is an educational cartoon that teaches youngsters about African culture, created by Adamu Waziri, Nigerian animator of EVCL. "This show is ideally suited to promote African culture among children and we expect significant uptake," says Mohamed Benhamadi, Telecoming Operations Director for Africa and France in our video and kids' services.

According to Ibrahim Waziri, Head of Business Development at EVCL "We are really happy about this agreement since we believe Telecoming is a solid partner in South Africa. Our agreement will further enhance Bino & Fino's reach in a strategic country."

South Africa currently has 57M inhabitants[1] and over 28% of its population is under 15 years old[2]. Therefore, there is a solid target market for this edutainment offer in a growing digital consumption economy. In fact, South Africa has a 68% average mobile subscription penetration.
