Halloween's almost here! Come to Space for Life with the family

MONTREAL, Oct. 16, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - With Halloween just around the corner, come enjoy a wide range of activities at Space for Life! From now until October 31, there's lots of fun for the whole family at the Jardin botanique and Insectarium : Pouah! Bébé sorcière storytelling session, Little Monsters Courtyard, guided spider activities and, of course, magnificently decorated pumpkins and a witch with exciting magic spells.

A must-see fall tradition at Space for Life

The Great Pumpkin Ball features hundreds of amazing decorated pumpkins in the main greenhouse at the Jardin botanique, where Esmerelda the good witch awaits you in her new green abode. At the Squash Kiosk, our guides will tell you about the astounding variety of gourds grown at the Jardin botanique. Children aged 4 to 8 will love the storytelling session POUAH! Bébé sorcière (in French only), directed by Jean-Francois Guilbeault based on the book of the same title, written by Lucie Papineau and illustrated by Steve Beshwaty, and presented in cooperation with Les Amis du Jardin botanique (the Friends of the Montreal Botanical Garden). At the Insectarium, have fun learning about the most ingenious tricks that spiders get up to through a variety of Spiders Unmasked activities.

Still lots of opportunities to play outdoors!
With the outdoor gardens aflame with fall colours, there's no lack of opportunities to have fun at the Jardin botanique! Young children won't want to miss the Little Monsters Courtyard, a Halloween-decorated area specially designed for running, jumping and scampering around, day or night. In the daytime, visitors strolling beyond the Japanese Garden will enjoy the immersive Nature is Your Shelter experience, a pathway lined with giant animal shelters. Plus, every evening until October 31, the cultural gardens will be aglow with the magnificent Gardens of Light event.

In 2018, Space for Life is taking a look at the many ways we dwell on our planet through inspiring ideas and thought-provoking talks and discussions to encourage citizens to become involved. This year at Space for Life, nature dwells within us more than ever!

Space for Life is made up of four attractions on the same site: the Jardin botanique, Biodôme, Insectarium and Planétarium Rio Tinto Alcan. These four prestigious municipal institutions form Canada's largest natural science museum complex. Together, they are launching a daring, creative urban movement, urging everyone to rethink the connection between humankind and nature and cultivate a new way of living.
